Barbara
Cabot likes to joke about her degree in History and English which she says
she has put to very practical use by working in banking for twenty years.
As Accounting Director for XFRM, Inc. she continues to use her degree in
subtle ways.
Barbara
has an interesting history of her own: her father's work as an engineer
took her to India, Hong Kong, Australia, and Singapore. In 1977 she earned
her History and English degree from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York
and moved to Portland. She has worked as an IT Auditor for several banking
firms in the Portland area, including US BANCORP. After learning about
music thanatology on ABC Nightline in 1996, she went back to school
and graduated with a certificate in Music Thanatology. In addition to her
accounting responsibilities at XFRM, Inc, Barbara is also the
administrative director and a co-founder of SacredFlight, a non-profit
corporation providing music thanatology vigils for terminally ill and dying
patients in the Portland area.
